What kind of cuts do I get? What is the percentage of steaks and hamburger?

Here is a sample of percentages based on the way some people may prefer their meat cut. These differ with every individual animal, and would change depending on how you customize your order. You can direct the size and amount of steaks, roasts and hamburger in each package. For example 1 inch steaks 2 to a package or family size 2 lb. of hamburger in a package.

* Steaks (Rib, T-bone, Porterhouse, Sirloin, Flank) about 19%.
* Roasts (Chuck, Arm, Sirloin Tip) about 17%
* Round cuts (Eye Roast, Top Round Steaks, Bottom Round) about 9%
* Hamburger about 45%.
* Miscellaneous (Short Ribs, Tongue, Liver, soup bone,etc) about 10%

Customers wanting to pool together for an order can contact us or go to our Facebook page and message others who are also interested in pooling an order of beef, or use our chat feature.

Where do I pick up the meat?

We have our meat processed at Cypress Valley Meat Company, Romance Arkansas. They will age the beef, cut, package, and freeze the meat, and you can pick up at the facility. Cypress Valley Meats provides vacuum packaging as a standard service.

Cypress Valley Meats will determine a final hanging weight for each animal and contact you to customize your meat order.  For reference, here is a Meat Chart.

How do I pay?

Cypress Valley Meats will contact you with the final weight of the animal and for your specific cutting instructions. The cost for the beef will be $5 per pound. Cost is based on the hanging weight of each animal and the percentage that you requested.  Payment will be made at the time of pickup at Cypress Valley Meats, and a your check will be made out to Farris Burroughs Farms.    Cypress Valley will contact you when the meat is ready for pickup. Farris Burroughs Farms will cover the processing fees and tax.

A deposit will be required before processing. We require $50 per quarter. You will be directed where to send the deposit by contacting us at russhog@windstream.net

When can I expect my beef to be ready?

We will process several animals per month. The beef is usually ready for pick up two weeks after slaughter. We will advise via phone or e-mail.

Farris Burroughs Farms beef is humanely raised and humanely slaughtered. Buyers pick up at the processing facility. Our animals are rotationally grazed on grass, wheat and turnips. For a few weeks during the year we supplement with corn. Our beef is lean and of top quality.
